UUM ONLINE: Rabat, Morocco 15 February - The working visits to Morocco and Algeria by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, came to a gratifying conclusion with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), Brunei Darussalam.

The signing ceremony took place at the Embassy of Brunei in Morocco. At the ceremony, UUM was represented by the Vice-Chancellor while UNISSA was represented by its Rector, Dr. Haji Norarfan Haji Zainal.

Among the prospective collaborative ventures agreed upon by the universities were student mobility programmes, staff exchanges, and twinning degree programmes.

UNISSA, which was established in 2007 as the first national Islamic university of Brunei, is the second government funded university in the country.

Located in Bandar Seri Begawan, the university aspires towards becoming a progressive and dynamic Islamic university of international standing that is firmly based upon the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah.
