“APPLIED ISLAMIC BUSINESS SCHOOL WITH FUNDAMENTAL VALUES”

Welcome to the Islamic Business School (IBS), UUM College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). It is my great pleasure to introduce IBS, with more than 50-strong faculty members from multi disciplines such as Islamic Banking and Finance, Islamic Economics, Muamalat Administration, Halal Management, Zakat, Waqaf, Ar-Rahnu, Wealth Planning, Islamic Fintech, Islamic Capital Market and others.

 Upholding our motto of FAITH, KNOWLEDGE AND VIRTUE, with the faith and knowledge that we have been blessed with, we pride ourselves in thriving to impart knowledge and share values to various stakeholders like students, academic institutions and communities both locally and globally. In this endeavor, we seek Allah’s guidance to seek knowledge that is of benefit.

Being the first AACSB accredited Islamic Business School in the world, IBS offers two main branches of knowledge Islamic Banking and Finance and Muammalat Administration. The courses offered are as follows:

Besides the academic programmes, IBS also offers training programmes for Islamic Financial Planners, Halal Management and ARRahnu and others. In addition, the academic staff are continuously having engagements with the Industry players in terms of strategic collaborations in joint research and publications as well as in designing curriculum for our students.

In an effort to bring impact to the various stakeholders particularly the communities, various programmes are conducted throughout the year such as Microtakaful Challenge Programme, “One School-One Community”, Health Campaigns and others. With these programmes, students are exposed to the real life challenges, developing skills towards having more empathy and later being agents to impart values, transferring knowledge to particularly, those who are of economically and financially disadvantaged.
